Today we are happy to announce that \u00c4tbart is releasing the english translation of its latest report titled \u2018The Food Bank Report #2\u2019! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This publication builds on the foundations of the research and analysis of the structural challenges that food banks face in Sweden that led to the creation of the first food bank report. It takes a look at larger-scale food donations in Sweden, social supermarkets and asks important questions such as: Should all the food that is produced be eaten? Who profits and who loses? Whose responsibility is it to pay for food waste? And how do we avoid simplified solutions to complex problems?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report Food Bank Report #2 \u2013 The Journey of Surplus Food: A Complex Path of Conflicting Goals and Interests highlights the complex relationships between the food industry and civil society. It critically investigates how market logics shape the work of charitable organisations and points to the need for systemic change. The report shows that the current model of food redistribution risks reinforcing rather than resolving existing problems. A sustainable future requires not only improved cross-sector collaboration, but also structural changes in how we produce, distribute and consume food. Above all, it demands a holistic analysis that brings power, branding and competing interests into the spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
